April 2010: Internet Decisions Organizes Social Networking Panel at Atlanta SCIP Meeting.

Atlanta, GA (April 13, 2010) - Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and LinkedIn are among the social media platforms changing the way people communicate -- but don't be fooled by the word "social." Web 2.0 and all that it entails is also transforming the way businesses market and communicate as well. The Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals hosted an informative panel discussion about this topic called "What Your Competitors Know about Social Media That You Don't."

Held at Maggiano's in Buckhead, a panel of local experts addressed a wide range of issues relating to social media that CI professionals should understand. The discussion included how enterprises incorporate social media into their marketing communications programs; the types of information companies share in this open communications environment and how CI practitioners monitor the seemingly endless flow of information. In terms of counter intelligence, the discussion highlighted why CI professionals should be concerned about the social media policies of their own companies and clients.

The panel was moderated by Chad Rothschild, senior account director at Summit Marketing and the organizer of the local Atlanta Bloggers Community. Other panelists included: Judy Mod, principal at Social Gastronomy, an enterprise social management consultancy; Rhonda Vincent, director of business development at Armchair Media and Molly Carter Gaines, a social media strategist with SolDesign. The program was organized by Keith Herndon, President of Atlanta-based Internet Decisions, LLC.
