March 2012: Technology Association of Georgia Releases "State of the Industry Report" Produced by Internet Decisions

Atlanta, GA (March 28, 2011) - The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) today released its 2012 "State of the Industry: Technology in Georgia Report" that was produced by Internet Decisions, LLC.

The report, presented at the Georgia Technology Summit held at the Cobb Galleria, was also published online at www.tagstateoftheindustry.com.

For the second year of its engagement with TAG, Internet Decisions combined primary and secondary research to create a comprehensive collection of statistics about technology in Georgia. For the 2012 report, Internet Decisions also collaborated with the Enterprise Innovation Institute at Georgia Tech to create an overall economic impact analysis of the technology sector in Georgia. The economic impact analysis concluded that the technology sector accounts for 17 percent of Georgia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and generates a total output of $113.1 billion.

"This year's report explains in depth the size and scope of technology in Georgia," said Keith Herndon, Ph.D., President of Internet Decisions. "But more importantly, the report allows us to understand that this sector has regained momentum following the recession and will be an important – if not the most important – part of Georgia's economy recovery."
