Bulldogs Helping Bulldogs... UGA Atlanta Alumni Center Receives Alumni Assistance with Internet Wireless Services

UGA alums Keith Herndon '82 and Robert Haag '93 recently collaborated to provide the Atlanta Alumni Center with free wireless internet. Upon visiting the Center last Fall, Herndon, a past Association board member, was surprised to find there were no wireless capabilities. He generously offered his services in procuring a wireless provider. Herndon worked with 3rd Wave, an Atlanta wireless hotspot provider and company contact (and fellow alumnus) Robert Haag, to gain the necessary Association services at no cost. The wireless system was installed in June and in return for these alums' generosity, the Association offers them one free meeting room a month.

Both Herndon and Haag are graduates of Grady College of Journalism. In fact, Herndon was Haag's mentor in 1992 through Conrad Fink's mentoring program. They stayed in touch over the years and when Herndon came to the center and realized there was not wireless internet service he immediately thought of Haag and Ripple as the perfect wireless solution. Herndon is the president of Internet Decisions LLC. Internet Decisions made a financial contribution to help offset the monthly internet service cost.
